Pillar 4:The Mind-Body Health

You’re likely to have received promotional material from wellness centres offering therapeutic treatments which claim health benefits. That’s right!. At some point, maybe you wondered if there really is a correlation between a relaxed mind and overall body wellness, or if this is just another scheme out to get your money.

In a bustling 21st century where time is a pricey luxury, we’re now witnessing a population plagued by the effects of stress regardless of age. Small humans lug backpacks twice their size to kindergarten and more mums are walking around with stressed out babies in their bellies.

Now lets look at cancer, a disease caused by a degenerative immune system. Researchers in Chicago, Manhattan and U.C.L.A. studying the relationship between psychological health and cancer patients .They discovered that the average victim of breast or prostate cancer was unable to express such basic drives as anger, aggressiveness, or sexual impulses. This relationship, termed “pyschoimmunology”, connects the mind, beliefs and emotions that eventually affect the physical well-being and course of one’s health. Often the presence of inner turmoil is masked by a facade of pleasantness.

To achieve a healthy body with a pH of 6.5 – 7.5, one needs to maintain the delicate balance between mind, body and emotion.
